Lynne Morrow, PEV’s longtime music director who stepped down in 2020, returns to our podium for the special musical celebration of her 15-year tenure with PEV that the pandemic lockdown prevented. This holiday homecoming Return to the Heart: The Promise of Peace presents highlights from Lynne’s substantial artistic legacy with PEV, including works by Leonard Bernstein, Samuel Barber, Dave Brubeck, Meredith Monk and others, featuring Paul Hindemith’s rarely performed Six Chansons, a setting of poems by Rilke. African-American spirituals and traditional Afro-Cuban music round out the lively seasonally inspired program.
