Lynne Morrow, PEV’s longtime music director who stepped down in 2020, returns to our podium for the special musical celebration of her 15-year tenure with PEV that the pandemic lockdown prevented.  This holiday homecoming Return to the Heart: The Promise of Peace presents highlights from Lynne’s substantial artistic legacy with PEV, including works by Leonard Bernstein, Samuel Barber, Dave Brubeck, Meredith Monk and others, featuring Paul Hindemith’s rarely performed Six Chansons, a setting of poems by Rilke.  African-American spirituals and traditional Afro-Cuban music round out the lively seasonally inspired program.

About Pacific Edge Voices:

Pacific Edge Voices attracts passionate non-professional singers (and, occasionally, professional ones) with strong and diverse artistic backgrounds and experience, who love to make music in a community of equally committed singers and audience members. The auditioned, Grammy-nominated chorus has toured in the U.S. and internationally, performing in New York’s Carnegie Hall, Germany, France, Cuba, and England.

In 2014, the Pacific Mozart Ensemble changed its name to Pacific Edge Voices to reflect the group’s is known for its distinct and longstanding legacy of musical innovation — performing multiple musical genres, collaborating on new works by diverse composers and performing artists, and presenting courageous and innovative vocal music programs.
